June is the time of year to plant trees in Honduras, as the rains have started. They call the rainy season their winter. Cesar asked permission to purchase 300 young trees as well as seeds. 160 of the trees were shared between four schools, as most have land within their boundary. Trees planted in past years in the schools have proved very successful and the children have enjoyed the fruit. The trees will not only provide food in the future but also shade for the children, from the hot sun, at lunchtime. The other 140 trees will be distributed to families in the Valle.
